That seems to be the going rate these days. I've seen several of them go on eBay.co.uk for that much also. It seems really silly that just a few months ago you could manage to buy one for under $100. But now they are double, even triple that price.

Tobus, I have been tracking these cantles for 3 years and the cheapest I have seen sold on ebay is GBP62.00 with a usual price of GBP130 - 170. I have seen one in pristine, unused condition and unblancoed start at US250.

I got mine in January for GBP58, but with shipping, the total came to GBP69. That's the least expensive I've heard of recently. They do seem to have jumped in price quite a bit recently... Couldn't have anything to do with a surge in interest prompted by the photos of beautiful re-bagged sporrans that are popping up here on the forum courtesy of XMarkers like Downunder Kilt and makers like Artificer... Congratulations to the winning bidder!

LOL a 1953 "Culloden" sporran being sold as a Boer War item!!

Typical Ebay seller ignorance. Well, as a wise man once said, there is no sin in the not knowing.

You gotta laugh at this stuff... one of the best ones was this listing from a few years ago... listed as a "complete Liverpool Scottish uniform" !!!
