I tried giving up in the past using different nicotine replacement therapies and none worked.
I found cold turkey the quickest and so far the longest lasting method.

I tried one of the e-cigs that glows at the tip and looks like a real cigarette. It was not satisfying to use, as it didn't seem like you were "smoking" anything but air.
That's been my experience as well. They just didn't do anything for me. I know some brands are junk and some are good, and I bought one of the better brands. But it just felt like I was breathing air, and left me disappointed.
I'll look up the eGo and see. I'd still like to find an e-cig that works. I've been a smoker for 20 years, and need to quit.

I am trying a disposable at the mo and has lasted a week and still going. I normally roll my own using a filter and Golden Virginia tobacco which now costs nearly £15.00 for 50g.
I still have the odd real ciggy but use the e-cig in the car and during the day at home and just have 3 or 4 real cigs in the evening. It has cut my tobacco use by more than half.
I am investigating what is available in the UK and which are the best and found 2 forums. I think one is US based and the other UK.
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/
http://electroniccigaretteukforum.co.uk/
There a reviews, tips and tricks and even DIY e-juice and re-filling the cartomizers.
I think it's about time I gave up tobacco but I like a smoke and have no real wish to give up.
Chris.

Chris I would be interested to know which disposable you use and where you got it? Is it freely available in the uk? I really should try and give up the weed.

Here is a US source for the standard eGo:

I used a standard eGo for about 8 months, then switched to the more user friendly eGo-C:

I can recommend this dealer (Lite Cig USA) for those in the US.
The US e-cig forum Chris provided a link to is a good source for e-cig info.

Chris.
Federal charge laid against him upon landing for 'interfering with flight operations'. Apparently, he wouldn't take instructions from a female. Also, domestic U.S. flights are non-smoking. Just leave your nicotine delivery systems in your luggage.

I am big into these e-cigs. However some of them are just not so good. I use an ego. Its great fun and you can buy pretty much and flavor and nic level. If any of you wish for some places to check out for a good ecig let me know.
