I'm going to steer clear of a wool kilt, but would a PV be just as warm or irritating/chafing? Ideas? If I could find one, I believe it would be cool if it were in the (unofficial) USAF tartan.
I've run in my PV NeoKilt kilt before. I've also run in a sportkilt (not sure if it's acrylic or PV.) My PV is a tad short (top of the kneecap) but it's fine for running. You'd be ok going either way in my opinion.

A USA Kilts Casual model (in PV) is perfect for running, whether it's on the road or in the mud. I wrote a review thread some time back--I've hit a few more mud races since then, and the tough bugger is still holding up nicely! Check the USAK website to check tartan availability.

I wear my PV Sport Kilt (Irish Revenge tartan) for running and it is very comfortable!

If any of the rabble are going to be in/near Fredericton on July 27th note that the kilted 5k (run OR walk) is followed by the NB Highland games opening concert then a beer tent with amazing entertainment. In other words, there's a beer tent preceded by a short run/walk in a kilt !!

good on you! does the running-with-a-sporran strike anyone else as somewhat ill-fated, though?
