USAKilt Casual. Looks good, won't be ruined by beer spilled on it.

Getting the kilt dry cleaned = $6.95. (at least here in New Hampshire)

another vote for economy wool black watch from stillwater.

or, since you have time, haunt here and ebay for something used. i have bought several great items in both places for substantial savings. sellers here know what they are selling, and you know enough from being here to ask ebay sellers the right questions to find out if they know what they are selling.

Well Rocky's casual kilt certainly fits the bill price wise... Not sure I'd want to have to rely on just velcro with drunk women around though...

He does have maclean in PV... Decisions decisions...

Will dry cleaning get out spilt beer? I'm guessing that price doesnt include basting and pressing?

I got a 5 yarder from Rocky to use as a "beater" kilt. It is my pub kilt or game/fan kilt. It is 16 oz wool. I tried the PV, but just cant get used to how light it feels. I always feel like my backside is exposed. So, I tried the 5 yarder and havent been happier. Feels just like my nice kilt, but could be readily replaced if needed and as has been previously mentioned, dry cleaning isn't that expensive. It may not have been tested to the extent you might see, but I wouldn't hesitate to wear mine in those circumstances.

I still have my PV casual...but pretty much so I can do a mud run and wash it easily. I just could not take a wool kilt mud running.

    usak casuals are great.

as for the velcro issue, get an explorer duty belt (cop belt) by boston leather. even with shipping, they can be had for under $30. i have a brown and a black.

I'd personally go with the Semi-trad. I just like straps more than velcro and a belt so it's worth the extra money to me. And from what I understand you get more yardage in a Semi-trad which will give you better swish.
