Don't you just wish you had stayed in as a Colony?
    Thank you!

Don't get me wrong...there is much I admire about the UK (look at those unifroms!). But a colony is just a question away from being a colon. If that were the case, then the horrible thing others call me might also be true.

He is shown in more than one but I think you are probably referring to the Balmoral Tartan, one of the few restricted tartans around. One must be a member of the Royal Family or wearing it with permission.

are those English longbows? Didn't the Scots use a small bow, shot from waist level?? Perhaps one of the re-enactors would know? ( and I won't start any hijack about the politics )

With respect, does it really matter? The Royal Company of Archers are simply a ceremonial unit, and yes, they do appear to use English longbows, arguably, the greatest (wooden) bow ever created.

    Kind regards,

I just watched part one and was struck by how many outfits would not pass muster on this forum. A tartan tie with a kilt! Belts with waistcoats! They're good enough to accept honors from the queen in Scotland, but not good enough for the kilt cops at XMarks.

Not to mention, a young Prince Charles was wearing a *GASP* CHAIN with his day sporran instead of a strap!

And not a "traditional" garter tie in sight. Shocking. Just shocking.
