While I feel sorry for all those African animals far away from their native ranges, the converse is that they are probably a lot safer from poaching and the like where they are.
That is a handsome kilt, Dale. Nice tartan.

Here's the inside of one of the "tents". Not too shabby.

As a matter of fact, one of them did.

You are on safari? Where were your Porters?
Ah, there's one!

I saw Matt's "Old Culloden" thread, and I must say it looks even better being worn. Very nice!

Outrageously hip photos, thank you, Dale.
Isn't Santa Rosa where the film American Graffiti was made? None of the scenery in your images looked like backdrps from the film....

That's a crackin' tartan Dale. Looks like an ace trip too.

I was originally planning to wear my Weathered Douglas kilt as something I knew would fit well with the colors of the terrain and the climate and "feeling" of the area. (In Japanese budo this would be considered an aspect of kurai dori or "taking a position", not just in terms of a "fighting stance" but in terms of a tactical position (individual or combat unit) appropriate to the terrain and general environment. It would have worked well for this; but the more I considered it the clearer it was that the Old Culloden tartan is also the most "tribal" looking kilt I own, with colors/patterns that seem to perfectly fit an "African" theme. The tartan is richly colorful, yet none of those colors are "loud" or "glaring".
I like all my kilts, but this one really is my favorite right now. I have to say also that, while I haven't seen any mill's weaving that I dislike, Dalgliesh's heavyweight fabric is the one I like the most. (This is my second Dalgliesh-woven kilt, the other being in the accursed R'lyeh Sett.)
