Mrs. Alan eats roofing nails for breakfast ....well.....at least when it comes to hiking, anyway. I mean, in comparison to me having croissants and decaf coffee for breakfast.
OK, the analogy breaks down. But I bet you get the idea.
As for "Windy".....you'll note that my pleats are NOT fluttering in that picture.
Awesome pics, Alan! That looks like the kind of country I'd enjoy hiking too. 7 miles a day sounds like an easy stroll, but at elevations over 10,000 feet, with uphill climbs on possibly loose rocky terrain, and with a partner who has hip troubles... I can see how it would be a darn good test. How did she do?
I'd have been tempted to just wash my kilt in one of those beautiful mountain lakes. But I'm guessing they would frown on that.
Lovely country. My family used to summer on the shores of Lundy Lake and do lightweight day hikes in the area (I'm talking late 1950s/very early 60s). Thanks for the photos.

Now this is my kind of landscape, Alan! There's nothing quite like camping/hiking/climbing above treeline (done many a times in Colorado and Wyoming). Thanks for sharing!
Cheers,

Nuts. Thought I had discovered a way to exchange my leftover roofing supplies into much-needed carpet tacks. Lost receipts and edit functions are the bane of home improvement budgets!
