Would our members be interested enough in this to send me some pics? We would of course need 12 really good pics. Kilts of all types and worn in a lot of different ways.
Send me what you have. If there seems to be enough interest and participation........
It's all up to you folks so if you want to make this happen we could.
Let's make it happen! Photos on their way!

I think it is a great idea. Meet-ups, best-of-the-bests, with pets, old photos. There are so many possibilities.

Beat me to the punch, great minds with the same idea.
At least that is my story and I am sticking to it.
Have to include a picture of Hamish and some group pictures doing the Hamish.

Bandwidth eh? Overload, hummm! Sounds to this technodunce that it might be expensive.
Just a thought. How about using pictures that we already have? There must be thousands to choose from. Another thought, as this idea seems popular and I for one hope that we have many years of calenders ahead, how about the first calender having a proportion of "years past Xmarkers" in it and then in future years(?) just pick pictures from the current year and say, Oct, Nov, Dec, of the year before to allow time to publish and distribute before the coming January 1st.
Just thinking ahead.

Just a few random thoughts, in no particular order -
- There are only 12 months in a year and at last count there are 35 gazillion members (well, 16,451 if you want an exact count), of which 1,318 are deemed to be active. That's a hundred years, to get everybody in - without all the dozens of newbies who are going to join this week-end. Maybe there should be more than one image per month.
- This need to be done to a high standard, otherwise it is not worthwhile doing. To that end, Steve/The Mods should co-opt a member who's sole task is to produce the calendar. Someone who knows about photography.
- High quality pictures only. Well composed, well posed, well lit and in focus. No fussy backgrounds and unmade beds. No strange pictures on the walls and half cropped people on the sides.
- Whoever becomes the calendar ombudsman should set the standard and his word should be final. If he says that white hose are OK, then there should be not one word of dissent.
- I do not believe that we can get a proper job done in the time allowed. There are only 108 days(counting today), before the 1st of January 2013. If people want to give it as a present for Christmas, then that gives us 100 days. Enough time to throw something together, but not enough to do a good job. We should be starting the process now for the 2014 calendar.
- Some thought should be given to members who are no longer with us - for what ever reason. Retro Red comes to mind, but there are other who are now Flowers of the Forest. Even Akins has done his part to make XMarks what it is today.
- There is also a question of copyright. I believe that there should be a copyright declaration for each image in the calendar. A printed image and an image on a computer screen are two different things in law and we need to be covered or we leave ourselves wide open.
- All aspects of kilt wearing should be covered.
Regards
Chas

I think we need to dig up a picture of Retro Red and put him in there as well and send a calendar to his family.
