I dont know... Might be a case of exploring where their price breakpoint is... Certainly seems theres a market for shorter custom runs... Maybe they just need to run the numbers...

What is the tartan that HRH is wearing? It is really quite striking.

Yes, he is wearing the Black Watch tartan, the version worn currently by the Royal Regiment of Scotland.

Must be the lighting in the pic. I don't think I have ever seen that much contrast between the green and the black.

I am not sure that lighting comes into it, the new tartan shades for the RRS, are in fact, as you see it worn by the Prince.

That's going to be a required stop on the itinerary for the next trip over to Scotland.

I agree, If I ever get back Ill pay them a visit. While looking on their web site during their reconstruction I saw what looked like Tibetan Prayer Flags hanging around until I zoomed in and found they had made strings of 8x8 pieces or tartan cloth and tweeds and strung them around.. What a cool idea to add to the strings of pray flags I have in my back yard and gardens.

As I understand, it is the lighter shades of the government tartan as worn by the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders that was adopted, and it also appears that HRH kilt is also pleated to the lighter green, if that is the correct phrasing, like the A&SH, rather than the darker blue of the Black Watch...

I do stand to be corrected here Glen, but as I understand it, all the units making up the RRS are now to wear the new lighter shade tartan.
