A member of the forum who has requested Anonymity has said that he will cover the cost of shipping for the recipient of my kilt. That is a kind and generous offer from someone who requests no recognition. I have received several requests already and hope this will help out a deserving person in this giving time of year.

CDNSushi is providing the foundation for an outfit, Bob and I can throw in some peripherals. Whoever is selected to receive the tartan kilt will also get a basic sporran (brand-new Stillwater ballistic black nylon Nightstalker), standard chain/leather strap, and a pair of gently used off-white hose.

Yeah, off-white. . . everybody starts somewhere! And the sporran is a second due to some issues with the center tassle, but I think cutting them all off would not only solve the problem but improve the overall look. We'll let the recipient make that decision, though. They'll also have to figure out how to attach the strap to sporran, as we don't have a spare gizmo (needs one of those short pieces with a D-ring on each end to accept chain's clips). Maybe another member can come up with one?

Items will ship from San Diego once the selection is made and shared.

Once again, the goodwill and charity of the XMarks rabble is shown!

I've received a further PM from another member, cable scot, who has also agreed to generously donate a pair of large (9 to 13 US) ecru kilt hose and a black "Rob Roy" day sporran! Thank you, sir, for the awesome donation!

The recipient of this kilt will therefore have received a darned near full package including:

- a (size 36) Freedom of Scotland tartan kilt
- a pair of ecru kilt hose (courtesy of cable scot)
- a pair of off-white hose (courtesy of sydnie7)
- a black, Rob Roy day sporran (courtesy of cable scot)
- a new Stillwater ballistic black nylon Nightstalker sporran (courtesy of sydnie7)

- and free shipping (courtesy of an anonymous XMarks member donor)

In addition, there is a second, modern kilt by Alt Kilt, generous donated by seanachie that is up for grabs. Just like mine, the shipping is free, thanks to an anonymous member donor.

Due to these developments, I've decided to extend the contest deadline until this time tomorrow, in order to allow any last-minute entries. The contest will officially close in 24 hours <-- using the time/date stamp for this post as the guideline.
