Not cheap ($10k for a replacement rock pit on an emergency rush - digging on Monday) but much cheaper than the coronary-inducing alternative ($35k+ for 150' of deep, shored trenching and secondary sumps/pumps to get from the lowest spot on the property to the storm drain connection at the street.) Thankfully we're on very deep, sandy, quick draining soil, and low-tech gravity systems work even when the power's off.

    /apologies for the threadjack.

    Yea, verily.

For anyone interested, here's what my front yard looked like last Monday evening, with a truckload of clear crushed rock being put into our new rock-pit:

But the contractor was as good as his word; he sent a very experienced machine operator first thing Monday, we got all the drains plumbed to a new 24" sump, excavated and ran into clay about 6 feet down but found a wonderful gravel-bed just 4 inches under that. It was all buttoned up Tuesday afternoon. The rain started Wednesday, and no problems. Just have to rake the yard and spread some chopped up moss...

Looks like I'll need to wait a while for a new kilt , but having dependable drainage (listening to the rain drumming on the roof) makes me feel a whole lot better.

Yes, the offer has now expired, I'm afraid...

... however, since Dale's unfortunate disaster has meant we've had to cancel one that was in the pipeline, perhaps I could persuade our retail manager to squeeze one extra in! If you get in quick and mention that I OK'd it, I'll warn him to expect to hear from you. As the discount code will no longer work, ust order at the normal price and mention this on the order form and they'll discount it before charging!

    Hope this helps. :-)

    Nick
