Bonjour Patrick.
One my favorite current bands, Celkilt, is from France, as are some of esteemed members here. Welcome and we are glad to have you join us here.

Welcome from the mountains of northern New Mexico, USA!
No need to apologize to me. I wish I could write French as well as you write English. I can't even write English very well!
What SWK tartan did you choose? Please post a picture in your new kilt, when you get a chance.
Pomme de terre su le tab! Which I think is French for "Have a great day!"
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

Welcome from a cold and windy Northern Ireland. Good luck with getting your kilt. Your English is excellent.
I wore a kilt in the South of France recently and it was well received and will definitely wear one next time I'm in Paris.

To everyone: Thank you for your warm welcome !
To Grizzly: Thank you for your support, I'm going to make a thread here to show my evolution creating tartans, and maybe ask for member's advice in order to perfectionnate myself.
To TurboKitty: I don't know this group, but Ill surely take a look ! I didn't write it in my first message, but I'm trying to learn the bagpipe by myself, and am very fond of celtic music, as my parents have raised me with "Flowers of Scotland" &co.
To Mookien: Actually I'm "cheating", my english level is mainly due to the fact that my grandparents took the Canadian nationality years ago, and gave me lessons since I was old enough to talk, and I've prepared Cambridge exams all my life... And when I don't know how to say something, Super-Google is here
I chose the "Black tartan", this way I could avoid my "I don't identify with this tartan" problem, and it's not as flashy as others...
"Pommes de terre sur la table" means "Potatoes on the table", so it surely annonces a great day !
To QuarterCeltic: Enchanté ! Vous avez toujours un bon niveau en français!
To John_Carrick: Nice to meet you ! People of the South of France are a bit more friendly than people in Paris, due to the lifestyle I suppose... Don't be upset if you don't get the same welcome, you're not the faulty one... If you come, don't hesitate to PM me if you'd like a list of some good places to go, or even another kiltwearer to guide you (and it would be a nice occasion to practice my english)

bienvenue d'Allemagne
I better go on with english, reading french is OK, but I don't want to hurt you with my poor writing.
I went the route to my own tartan as well (as did a friend of mine), if you'd like to take a look, it's here:
http://www.tartanregister.gov.uk/tar...aspx?ref=10584
It's definitely a exciting journey until you are satisfied at the end, with countless alterations from the first design.
And I got some great input especially from the kiltmakers.
In this thread are some pictures of the woven and kilted product:
