No heroes in the whole thing...just a tragic mess with many new wounds opened in our state and nation.

Maybe we'll learn from it and grow but I'm not holding my breath.

    Tobus asked:-
Was it a police pipe band? Or a civilian band hired for the procession?
As OCRichard has now reported on the other thread re Detective Jeremiah MacKay,
I saw Officer Crane's funeral on TV; The University of Riverside Pipe Band played.
Regional Director for Scotland for Clan Cunningham International, and a Scottish Armiger.

This Thursday will be the funeral of Deputy MacKay. I talked to some pipers who are police officers yesterday and they said that a big showing of pipers was being put together and that I was invited.

Many of us are scrambling trying to get the time off work to make as good a showing from the pipe band community as possible. MacKay was a piper himself. Here's a local report about him

Wow that makes for some tough viewing... here I am at 5am crying at my keyboard.

Precisely. No one's hands are clean here.

I just saw this clip on YouTube which shows, very well, the spirit of that day, the day of the service for Jeremiah MacKay
