I was married in Dublin in 97, and one of my groomsman took the time to arrange a Lodge visit while he was there. (I was too busy.) He had a fantastic time, and was well received. He's a PM and had our Lodge contact the Lodge in Dublin, prior to his trip
I can imagine H.A. in a UK.
And you may ask yourself, Well how did I get here?
Hello to All & Thanks for the very warm welcome.
I will try & answer many of the questions that have been posed.
I will be visiting Rosslyn Chapel when we go to Scotland in 2005. It has become sort of a Templar/Masonic pilgrimage for many. I somehow knew that the climax of the DaVinci Code would land there in Scotland. Great book - be sure sure to read its predecessor "Angels & Demons".
I haven't worn my Kilt to any Masonic functions as of yet. I am newly appointed Assistant Grand Lecturer for my district. If I should be deemed worthy of the "Purple" - I will go for the Prince Charlie Jacket & Vest and more than likely make it my formal wear for my term. I am also setting up a Chapter of the Knights of St. Andrew for my Scottish Rite Valley. This will be a service based group for the Valley & Freemasonry in the Syracuse area. I will be pushing for a kilted unit to be a public face for the Chapter. It would be great if SportKilt or USA Kilts offered the Grand Lodge of Scotland tartan. At there great prices, they would sell alot of kilts to Masons.
My best friends from college live in Cazenovia - a very nice town. I don't know of any kilted pub nights in our area - maybe it's up to me to get one going. We have a great Scottish Games in August, a huge St. Patrick's Day parade and Tartan Day is coming up!
