    Good Morning Everyone

I was wondering if anyone can tell me how to properly care for my Glengarry hat? I am assuming cold water & woolite, hand washing. What about a little liquid starch to give it a good stiff look? Or is that a bad idea? Any help would be appreciated.

    Matt

I would just spot clean it with pure water or a little gentle soap like baby shampoo. I store mine in my side pocket of my pipe case nice and flat with the ribbon tucked straight inside. I have not known of anyone to wash one.

I agree with Tulloch. I used to air mine out though.

I wouldn't wash it unless it was absolutely necessary (ie. salt/sweat stains) and only then if it is a quality Scottish made glengarry. A non-Scottish made glengarry may be stiffened with something like cardboard and you know what happens to paper when it gets wet...

Thanks guys, I just wasnt sure. It isn't real bad, just some sweat stains etc... it is of good quality so I am confident it will last quite awhile.
