I agree, especially since it is a MacDonald dress. But then again, it might have been donated by someone who lost their loved one who wore the kilt. I can't see any other reason to let such a beauty go.

I agree with Dress Macdonald. What's the size? Can someone wear it? Right size and you could make a healthy profit on it here among us cousins IF you wanted to...

It doesn't look to have been worn much, so maybe it was bought for a special occasion or as a vacation souvenir. It is an inch or two too tight for my husband, it fits me but my hips are (of course!) bigger than a man's and it comes to mid knee on me. Hubby wears a size 32 pant, I'm not sure what his waist measures.

The fit is a bit strange in that the inside strap is on its tightest setting, looking closely someone made another tighter hole, while the outside ones only go barely to the loosest. Extender straps (or just longer ones) on the outside ones would make it fit my husband or maybe as Barb T suggests move them a small bit. < I edited this when I realized I had thought to extend the wrong strap.

I think it is fitting that I brought it home not knowing what tartan it was and it's MacDonald since my beloved Grandmother was a McDaniel. It makes me a bit misty eyed.

Sorry Nathan I got called away from my post so it sat a few minutes before I actually posted it.

Anyone have any idea of the age of the kilt?
