Hi, Unclevenus, and welcome to X Marks.
For myself, grey is a colour I would avoid like the plague when it comes to anything kilt-related (or even in trousers).
Perhaps this is because in South Africa, almost every school that enrols teenage boys requires them to wear grey trousers (the younger ones mostly wear grey shorts). Even worse, I associate grey shirts with the last school I attended, since they were the uniform there (most schools require the boys to wear white shirts).
Most schools also have grey socks (long with shorts, and often with cuffs in the school colours, and short with trousers) as uniform.
My mother especially disliked the grey shirts, but suspected that they had been introduced to save on laundry – the school was in an irrigated valley, in a very dry part of the country, and at certain times of the year, water is restricted.
There are few tartans I appreciate less than those that are predominantly grey, and grey is also the last colour I would consider for hose.
Both red and green (in various shades) go well with kilts in those colours. When I break away from those, I wear oatmeal, and I would like to own a pair of brown hose.
I also wear black with my red and green kilt, since it has black as part of the sett. With black hose, I always wear red flashes, although green would not be out of place – perhaps a brighter green than the dark flashes I have.
I have a pair of hose in pale green, and usually the flashes I wear with those are (dark) green.
I own only one kilt belt, which is black. But if I had a second, it would be in brown, as I usually wear brown shoes, and my day sporran is brown leather.
But ultimately it is a matter of your personal taste, and the reaction you get in your kilt outfit. Choose what suits you best.
Regards,
Mike

Thanks again, all!
Good move. I tend to avoid brighter colors in the hose (red, orange, etc) if the kilt has a lot of that same color. It tends to be too much of a good thing. I think those bright color hose look best when the kilt only contains a small amount of that color. Then you see some contrast, while still being complementary to the kilt.
In your case, the charcoal and grey both look fine, and I definitely think lighter green hose would look good, as well. The bison color Glenmore would look great for daytime casual wear.

I'd probably opt for the Charcoal (first choice) or Grey (second). Also, I noted that your flashes are backwards. Whoever made them intended for the orange side with the double green stripes to be the side facing out.
BTW... love the Fred Perry. I have about 6 in my closet (including the black one with cream ringers).

What shirt are planning to wear with it?
I would agree with this advice and also with Matt who suggests the orange hose look a little "over the top". With your great looking tartan, subdued coloured hose and shirt would be my choice.
