It is the only place in the us apparently where in the part named the thoroughfair you can hike in for 30 miles and be 30 miles from any road. I haven't done it yet but plan to someday.

I made a t-shirt with my favorite picture I have taken which says "I don't have to be faster than the bear just faster than you (crossed out), my children (crossed out), my associates (crossed out), walmart greeters (crossed out), 4 year olds (crossed out), Dang I hate getting old."

Thanks for posting those wonderful pictures. I like the grizzly with her cubs, and the boar, and can only assume those were taken with a LOOOONG lens. My favorites, of course, are those of your family. You can see the resemblance. I'll bet if your son smiled it would look just like yours and your daughter's. Nice job, Dad.

I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

I have been to the park a few times; the last being just before the big fire that they let burn....
I don't remember Roaring mountain but it looks awesome!

I remember the fire of 88 very well. It was a major event in Yellowstones modern history. I know several of the guys involved with the fight and it was so big and in so many remote areas that despite their efforts they all knew the only thing that would finally end the fire was the first snow.
