Great pictures. I am always amazed by and in awe of those who participate in these highland games athletic events and wonder who thought up such torturously difficult feats. "Oh yea, let's toss huge stones and telephone poles!" Having entered the geriatric phase of life, I fear all I can do is cheer and applaud but cheer and applaud you I do.

The ancestors are well pleased, LitTrog.
We here are as well.
Nice picture of the caber turn.
Don't worry about the numbers. As long as you're having fun, let the numbers take care of themselves. And they will improve.

Congratulations on the efforts and accomplishments.
If they ever had an under 170# masters or grand-masters division, I might be inclined to take on the challenge. But I guess I'll have to settle for hoisting a glass in honour of the games participants.

pfeh, your current wife is MUCH better looking than I am. Besides, I can't cook to save my life.
As for cabers, that looks like a big boy caber to me!

Very well done, indeed. After the first game, you just keep at it. You will improve and continue to have fun. And that is a BFD!

....LitTrog, it appears you had a grand time. If the after shots are any indication, you have a lot more support locally than you first thought. Keep up the good work and btw, you do NOT look to be an "old man"......just a warrior gaining experience.....

Running either way! I suggest you change your plane tickets so you can join me in Highlands Ranch. It'd be a good warmup for your mountain climbing!
Hahahaha! Sounds good to me, mate!

Humbled, I am.
My genuine thanks to you, Roger, Martin, Alan, and everyone else who took the time to provide instruction and encouragement, directly or by example. My numbers will rise!
Mr. Staggs says he's still stinging from 2010... He put on a nice sheaf show last Sunday. Wow.
I'll post the results from my upcoming games on my log before I retire it. My wife gave me a nice journal in which to record the advice, problems, successes and "failures" I encounter with each event. Hoping to make y'all proud by Estes.
Here are my dates to look for:
Elizabeth Celtic Festival: July 21
Colorado Scottish Festival: Aug. 11
Longs Peak Scottish-Irish Festival: Sept 8
I'll get some video up and be able to compare the results from each one. I'm slightly afraid that some of my stone and caber work won't even equal my last effort--we had a slight downhill going on.
