Hi I hope you got your box pleat done and are happy with how it turned out.
I have just completed my first box pleat so am no xpert but will ad here what I did.
I divided the difference (5cm) between the 10 pleats giving me 5mm reduction per pleat. I then marked half this (2.5mm) on each side of the front pleats.
On the back I marked the centre of the inside pleats. I then tacked the front pleats together using a locking ladder stich on the fell. Then I pinned the centre of the inside pleats to the join of the front pleats followed by pinning about half way to the pleat edge to hold it flatish.
Then giving it a good press held the pleats in place. After restiching the front pleats I stitched up the inside using a hem stich on overlaps. The extra thickness did not make a big difference once the lining ect is on.
As there is no cut fabric if I gain or lose weight I can unpick and adjust.
Hope this helps someone
Jamie
