I bought my Edzell from them, it is well made and has lasted 13 years with regular wear and still looks great!

I have heard - second hand, but on good and proven authority - that they do occasionally make a mistake, but then who doesn't? Generally what I hear is what you're hearing here.

My Geoffrey Tailor is PV and is the best driving kilt I have ever worn. Their shop at the top of the Royal Mile is worth the trip to Edinburgh on its own.

I second Chas' comment, their shop in Edinburgh is well worth a visit, and you can actually watch the process of weaving tartan if you time your visit right.
I don't own any pure "Geoffrey Tailor" kilts but I do have a 21st Century Kilt in navy blue which I bought from Geoffrey Tailor's shop in Edinburgh and which still looks very smart and holds its pleats very well.

I also have two from GT. One BW fitted in California in 1983 by Geoffrey himself, and the second in Elliot Ancient fitted in Virginia in 2006 by one of their reps. Both looked and fit great. My wife also got two skirts from them. I'll be wearing the Elliot when I attend our clan gathering next week in Scotland.

My wife ordered a skirt from them back in the early 80s, and was fitted by Geoffrey himself at one of the games in California. We received a letter questioning the measurements (apparently she did not fit their template). We confirmed the measurements but when the skirt arrived it had been made according to their assumed measurements (it was way too big). We shot a letter off and in turn they requested the skirt back and sent a new one made to the proper measurements. Not sure what happened but they didn't quibble about making it right.

That's the kind of story that's most important - not always getting it right, but making it right. Good review!
