I live in Florida USA so I don't get Autumn but I thoroughly enjoyed reading about it. :-) We do have some bees and butterflies around the house though so I'll be happy about that.

There is a definite autumn feel to the air here in Olde New England. The days are just that much shorter, vegetable garden is just past it's peak but still producing. In a few short weeks the far north will start to see the slightest change in the colors just in time for the New Hampshire Highland Games -- September and October are the BEST kilt wearing months of the year here. Can't wait.

The weather here is very hot 28c, and very humid. Fall will cool things down to a comfortable level soon. The crab apple tree is almost ready, just waiting for a frost. The bear still is guarding it, gathering as many calories as he can stuff into himself. This a true gift to be alive.

Instead of autumn you have hurricane season.

Yeah that's what they tell me but in the 30+ years I've lived here I've really only been inconvenienced by a hurricane for a total of about a week...I know some folks got it way worse but I've been pretty lucky as far as that goes. I wouldn't mind a bit of autumn!

Here in Southern Indiana , I have noticed a few maple trees already changing color . As usual , autumn is approaching , this is my favorite time of the year . A time of serenity and energy all rolled up into one season .

Kids going back to school. Labor Day weekend upon us; only a few days left to wear the seersucker jacket and straw hats. Yes, Fall is here!

A family friend recently showed me their growing apple crop from the trees in his yard. Last year's strange spring killed off the flower buds resulting in a total of three apples.
We trade apples with him for some of the apple butter, applesauce, and apple pies we make.
I'm looking for regional recipes to try out as it looks like this year is going to produce a bumper crop. We can only eat so much applesauce!

They say that in Ontario we have two seasons - winter, and "construction." Today is really humid - foggy in fact, and hot too.
Back to School sales, and in my church planning, I'm already gearing up for Christmas! (Ya' gotta be ready!)
I've noticed how much the roads clog in the morning once the school-buses and delivery-parents are on the road in September, but frankly, part of me really misses the back-to-school planning too.
Cheers & Blessings!
