Although it might be hard to find in all sizes there are also some stripped ties in orange & blue that might make for an interesting choice.

I wouldn't do the orange thing, because I saw a band that did, and it wasn't a good look IMHO.

They wear an "ancient" tartan the red in which is a red-orange. They decided to amplify that colour by going with orange flashes and neckties. I didn't care for it at all.

Some things that sound cool in theory don't end up looking good.

Besides, the shoes, waistcoat, sporrans, and hats are black... and you all know what the colour combination of orange and black brings to mind, at least here in the USA! (Hint: you'll see it a lot next month...)

Black and light blue is a much more crisp and professional-looking pairing. Common in the pipe band world, yes, but there's a reason for that.

If you are after bespoke waistcoats, try this lady:

She's based in the UK but offers the best price for a hand made waistcoat I've come across and I've seen off the peg that are more costly. £25 is about $40 (US) by the way.

I've got one of hers in 'wine' polyester with a 'burgundy' back and it's a perfect fit.

She is happy to discuss whatever your requirements might be ie. straight bottoms, pointed bottoms, pockets, whatever.

I've no connections, this is just a satisfied customer's recommendation.

I agree with John (EB) I have 3 of Janet's moleskin waistcoats and they are very well made and the prices can't be beaten.
