Your friend may well have a flair for photography but I'd say you folks have a flair for being photographed too!

The belt is actually a DIY item because I find the regular cross-belts too militaristic for my outfit and all the others available here are pirate-like ones. In fact I bought two white belts and had them riveted together (rivet point is on the shoulder), and left a little leather to make a loop of so that I could hang my scabbard from it (which you can just see next to my left leg). Although cheap, I think it fits quite well with the ensemble! If you'd like I can take a few pictures of just the belt.

Excellent photographs, Daniel, but why are you wearing a sword?

JSFMACLJR, I only do on pictures (and at my university formal as it was 19th-century themed). I like the sword, so it goes with the outfit. Simple! ;)

I really like your red hose. The outfit really benefits from that big splash of colour, being otherwise black and white.

Thinking from the pure fashion/colour/coordinating standpoint, starting out with a black jacket and black & white kilt creates quite a challenge as to where to go with hose, shirt, and necktie.
