I will be kilted in my MacLean Hunting greatkilt on Halloween. Call it my "Culloden Memorial" costume...

Yes indeed "the kilt isn't a costume" (in the Halloween sense) but there have been years where I haven't had time to put together anything, and it was easy (too easy) to reach into the closet and grab something. For me, in these instances I wasn't in costume but Highland Dress, because I didn't mix my ordinary Highland Dress with any costume items or makeup or anything. (Maybe a grey area... if I wasn't going to wear a costume, why did I reach into the closet and grab a kilt?)
Hey but a Zombie Highlander costume would be cool!
Anyhow, sadly I don't have, or will probably ever have, any "kilt Halloween costume". This year I went as The 15th Doctor (more stuff grabbed out of the closet!)
re-purposing the shirt and hat from my Hitchhiking Ghost from a couple years ago...

Put this together some years ago for Halloween at work - sort of a black and white - ying and yang - Jester look with a medical white Utilikilt original that was a one of a kind sample
Did this "Viking Scot" look for a Ren Faire, but would work for Halloween too.
In both cases the kilt was part of the costume, but not THE costume...

"Come as a celebrity" Halloween party led to this obvious choice, given my Maclean Hunting kilt and PC. Add a costume jabot and cuffs to "wear it wrong," and we're off and running!
