    I have both and I think that the Acrylic is warmer, but the weave of the P.V. is tighter and will stop the wind better. My vote for your question is Acrylic.

    The PV kilts we sell at buyakilt.com are a viscose rayon (65%) and acetate fibre (35%) mix. They're actually heavier than people expect which helps the pleats fall quite well. In weight terms the 8 yard kilt is heavier than an 8 yard 13oz wool kilt. The budget 8 yard kilt is cooler than the wool kilts. Nothing beats wool for the warmth, but the PV kilts still do a good job in the winter. I can't comment on the Acrylic, but I hope this helps with your decision.
