interesting to see her kilted skirt buckles on the right- that is it closes like a man's kilt.

I'm no fashionista, although I do have three girls in my house who know how to dress. Yes, I guess it really is a skirt (albeit a long one) I was just quoting from the media. There are many things I like about this look: the Princess has kept it simple, the combination of the long skirt with the black top. The elegance of the length of the skirt. The fact that she did mimic the man's kilt with the straps with an even higher waist. She even makes a nod to the man's kilt with a proper kilt pin. I just think she looks simply elegant and shows off the tartan at it's best. If anyone thinks they know which tartan this is I would like to know out of curiosity. I have one friend who thinks it may be a Ralph Lauren fashion tartan, but isn't certain.

Given the distance between the camera and the skirt, I would not swear to it. But the tartan reminded me of House of Edgar Murray of Tulibardine Muted. As it happens, I wear that tartan and visible here scroll down to the image with the tailors tape and sorry to self promote but a quick Google search did not turn up a decent swatch elsewhere. Sett size looks different and it is quite possible that the range of color is not in this skirt or completely different. Again hard to say with the current evidence exactly what she which tartan is being worn. And I would not be surprised to learn that this was a fashion tartan vs a clan tartan.

But I will say that I would love to see that skirt or something rather like that skirt on my wife. Not ever going to happen. And not because she couldn't pull it off but she "Doesn't do the tartan, tweed thing". My loss as she would look fetching.
