Years ago (1950s) my mother was in a restaurant in Pittsburgh, PA. She ordered iced tea with her meal. The waitress looked puzzled, but dutifully returned with a glass of ice water and a tea bag.
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

I plan to make fruitcake cupcakes in shamrock (or at least green) liners this Friday, and will also have shamrock-shaped, lime curd-filled doughnuts, along with whatever else I come up with in the next month. I'll order some of the aforementioned brands of tea and have una fiesta irlandesa.

Here it is coffee or tea. Usually coffee. But the tea variety tends to be about 6-8 kinds. Rarely any Irish or English. To "cowboy" in this area.

I once had a waitress in Toronto who pegged me for an American because I specified "hot" tea when ordering!

It was a nice time. I invited 12 people, 4 of whom didn't come. All the corned beef got eaten, my doughnuts turned out well, and the fruitcake cupcakes were (and still are) some of the best I've made.

I'm glad to hear it was a success. If it's not a secret, what is your recipe for the fruitcake cupcakes?

Google "Mrs. MacKinnon's Christmas Fruitcake". I veganized it, substituted some of the fruits, and after it's baked, I feed it a mixture of lemon, orange and almond liquers.

I will have to try it.
