Its a pretty cheap and easy wood working project. Anyone with access to a sander and a drill could make one. I made just such a comb and bottle cap opener and I'm no Rab Gordon! I cut up a hickory hammer handle into two knife handles. I sanded down one side of each handle and drilled a hole down the center of each. I then stained and decorated the handles. Into one handle went a 50 cent bottle cap openner (from the paint department at the local hardware store) into the other I put a $2 simple black fashion comb (like an Ace pocket comb, but with a slim handle). I used a two part expoxy to hold them into place.

They aren't high art (for art see Mr. Gordon) but they work. I can take my "Sgian Don'ts" to my son's school or out and about without worrying about breaking the law.

Here's a picture of my "sgian don't" bottle opener. The hickory handle is from a hammer handle and the turquoise and silver button was a tie tac I bought over ten years ago because I liked it but never wore because it didn't match any tie I owned.

    Cheers
