Our kilts are more than mere clothing. They're a statement and declaration of independence from the commonplace and status quo. A mark of our freedom of thought and individuality. We're men among sheep.....er....let me retract that one.

I do care about my kilt. Not almost.I didn't spend so much money just to leave it crumpled on the end of the bed(The fate of the most of my Trousers.)

Which brings me to the fact that since I got my first kilt I'm begining to care a little bit more how I look.I'll echo somone else from the forum here,and go as far to say ,I've begun to buy items of clothing with an eye for how they will look together with my kilt.Also Hanging my clothes when I take them off......WHATS HAPPENING :o It's getting worse isn't it

Of all the kilts that I own (that's USAKilts, AmeriKilts, UtiliKilts, BearKilts) the one that I will live-in is my Irish National Tartan "House of Edgar" traditional kilt. The thing is a tank, and gets more comments than Janet Jacksons right boob!

I got my 8yd heavy weight from Burnett's and Struth. I'm very happy with the quality. It was actually a sale item, and VERY reasonable. They have great customer service.

Hector Russell's Canadian store in Toronto made my most recent kilt in Cumming Hunting Ancient -- and it is a brilliant piece of work, all hand-sewn -- I highly recommend them!

My first two kilts, one Gunn Ancient and one Gunn modern were both from J. Higgins in Lenexa, Kansas. Their quality used to be good, but they've went down hill IMHO. I've heard that from a lot of folks recently.

The absolute BEST kilt that I own is my Hector Russell Irish National Tartan kilt.
Hand-sewn, 16-ounce wool, traditional, lined and sharper pleats than a Ginsu! The yardage is over 8 yards and I'm only a 36" hip. THAT'S quality!

Hey Todd, that's not exactly where one would look for a kilt, now is it?!

I think they should stick to barbecue!
(Haywards Pit, Gates & Sons, etc)

Did you use there online service, order direct or go to Toronto? I haven't visited their site in awile, but I was impressed with their products. From what I remember, the site was more of a link to call Toronto.

I e-mailed them from the site, and was then given an 800 number that they give customers to call -- so a combination of e-mail and phone. Darren, their manager, was absolutely brilliant (cue the Guiness commerical) and the kilt arrived a month ahead of schedule -- I ordered it at the end of September, they promised it would be in Missouri by Hogmanay, 2004, but I received it in late November!
