I've got to admit, that's pretty adorable. Though I'd probably just stick to a bandanna.

Pants is only a present tense verb here. I once panted, but it's all cool now.

If my Jock were very, very naughty I might do it to punish him - or to watch him rip it off.

Many years ago when my roommate got married and I was his best man, we were both kilted. I got some generic tartan fabric and made our house dog a kilt to wear at the wedding.
If I ever get a bulldog, he'll have a kilt for sure.

Well, you could always make a couple of eye holes in the bag it comes in, so your dog can put it over his/her head and avoid the ridicule of his/her mates!

No, I would not kilt my dog. I don't even understand why people would want to. It's just one of those things that makes me shake my head, or face-palm, or both.
I have been known to put a sweater on the Chihuahua I used to own, but that was purely a functional thing, as she was so small, with virtually no hair, making her extremely vulnerable to cold weather. But I felt like one of "those people" every time I did it.

That kilt idea is just a little bit too much for me, but I do like the idea of a dog in tartan. I am seriously considering getting dog jackets made up in Springbok rugby tartan, since their current jackets (including one in Springbok colours, and one in a Super Rugby team strip) are getting a bit tatty.
That would be for my medium-sized dog and bitch. My large bitch, about the size of a German shepherd, has a very thick coat herself and does not need a jacket.
Regards,
Mike
