This thread is cheesy….
…which is totally awesome!! I love a good sharp cheddar. It goes with everything-burgers, chili, salad, eggs, burritos, hot dogs, baked potatoes, french fries, brisket, potato soup, tomato soup… btw, the Amish make great cheese just south of Columbus, Ohio.

Cheese?
Strangely enough I tried Wensleydale before Wallace's recommendation!

I'd love to Derek. It'll have to be a provisional yes at the mo' though. I'm heading for a big change in my life around that time - an early retirement from my current employer beckons and as Mrs. R isn't prepared to let me sit around the house all day ebaying for sporrans, I will still need to gainfully employed (although hopefully in a more relaxed capacity!)
I got the dates wrong as well. The festival is 13th and 14th September. http://www.cheesefestival.co.uk/
I'll pm you nearer the time? And of course, if anyone else is interested. . .
Steve.

Love a good cheese. Use to be one of my main food groups, but, my kidneys started making kidney stones, so it is now forbidden ( one thing I don't need, is more pain )

I know that pain jhockin. For me it's been 3 times in 12 years, last one was last year. Thank heavens it was an itty-bitty tiny one. It passed in less than four hours. Wasn't aware that cheese was contributory to kidney stones, though. I now drink lots of fruit juices (cranberry mixes and apple juice mostly). That's supposed to help some in avoiding the formation of stones. I didn't for about a month before my last stone (grocery funds were a bit low), which may explain why I got one. Now I don't go more than a few days.
I don't eat a lot cheese, but I do like some variety every now & then. I'll check some of these out on occasion.
Thanks for the thread Derek!
John
