Welcome Todd
Welcome Todd. Nice to see another joing the group. I can't say too much I just joined yesterday myself. I have two gunn kilts both modern. I like the ancient Gunn but it doesn't seem to be available anymore. It seems from talking to others that Gunn is getting more popular by the day........Again welcome........Griff

Greetings!
My avatar flag is the Canadian Red Ensign, pre-1965. I an a bit of an amateur vexillologist (but I'm no speller) -- that's Greek for someone who studies flags and their history -- and the Canadian "Red Duster" is one of my favourite flags (besides the Saltire, of course!) Some of my Scottish ancestors left for Canada after the Rebellion (they were Loyalists), and my Cumming ancestors immigrated through Canada in the late 1860's, eventually landing in Iowa. I've always considered myself a Canadian "in spirit"!
I am a Gunn, but the Cummings are my first loyalty.
I'm in Springfield, about 3 hours south of K.C.
Yours Aye,
Todd

Oddly enough, I strongly suspect that some of my ancestors were also Loyalists. The left Georgia and went to West Florida after the revolutions. Of course a couple of generations later, the Yankees annexed West Florida.

While trying to figure out flag question myself last night I had thought it was the Red Ensign but the green leaves in the bottom of the crest threw me as I could only find Red Ensign images with red leaves. Apparently in 1957 (a bit before my time) the leaves were changed from green to red. All in a plot to confuse me 47 years later I suspect. ;) (Actually the original 1921 proclamation said the leaves be "proper" i.e., in their natural colour which is quite ambiguous for maple leaves)
Now on to your regularly scheduled kilt wearing.

Red Ensign
Randall,
The version I have hanging on my wall in my office has red leaves as well.
Did we meet on the Hector Russell Canada forum board?
