or even a casual night out.

Very well said, Zeytoun.

As with kilt wearing at any level, Bubba. It's the 'total look', or getting the balance right, that is so important.

Hamish, the total look is the thing. Of course, my look at times would send traditionalists running screaming into the night. Picture a Gordon Dress kilt with an Army BDU jacket in woodland camo.

I decided against it as even though it is all leather and a semi day sporran i am going to hold out for a brown one. I have been eye'n the ones on Bear's sight a good bit but the wife is not so into spending so much on a new habbit.
the kilt was a shocker enough.

My wife is the same. She saw the prices on some kilts, looked at me and said Dream on!She tolerates me making my own but still thinks I'm spending too much. I've noted, however, when I got the new fabric with the announced intention of making her a matching outfit she didn't squawk.

I have yet to make the sugestion for a sewing machine.
I had looked for some on e-bay i fancy the older style though i guess they are antique by todays standards. I remember my mother had a old family one that was foot operated i used to think it was the neatest thing I wish i knew where that thing went

You need to be careful with ebay. Too many sellers have no clue how to pack a sewing machine for shipping and they get damaged. Your best bet is a visit to a local dealer and look at used and reconditioned machines.

Weeeee. found a Vintage Canadian Military Sporran for sale.
it is a Dark brown and looks to be in good shape and is going at a pretty cheap rate. I am assuming that being a military one it will be we made and all.
