    Thanks Chris. I'm looking at them. They do look nice. I have one more local place to check. If they have nothing it's probably going to be LeatherFactory.

    Nice source for kilt buckles and straps is Highland Xpress. http://www.highlandxpress.com/patterns.html#acc Scroll down to "Buttons and Accessories". Buckles are listed last. I'd use the 1" buckles for a dancer's kilt and the 1 1/4" buckles for a man's kilt. I wouldn't use the 3/4" ones for anything but a child's kiltie skirt.

    Barb, they're nice but I found some sources locally that will order what I need. As for straps, I'm partial to using an oil tanned latigo type leather. It's more resistant to weather and cleaning solutions. Moisture just rolls off it without penetrating very much. It's easy enough to find locally too and cutting straps is easy. I use a steel ruler and a rotary cutter. Highland Express is a great source for jacket buttons though and I plan to get some for the jacket I'm going to make.
