Hose color question with tartan matching flashes

Graham of Menteith gives you some interesting possibilities for colour combinations because, in addition to the black, green and blue of Black Watch, it also has light blue.
You can go matchy or contrasting. And you could wear different colours of hose with it depending on whether you are dressing formally or for knocking about in the countryside.
For formal wear, you could have black, charcoal, claret, scarlet, blue (dark or light).
As Jock Scot says, you don’t have to have flashes or hose ties, but they could be contrasting, too – in fact, light blue would go well with any of those (apart from a light blue pair of hose).
For very informal wear you could look at a whole range of browns, from light khaki to a rich dark brown. Again, flashes/ties are not compulsory, but you could incorporate contrast there as well.
The possibilities are infinite.

PS: I forgot to add: wear a flat cap if you like, but on more formal occasions a bonnet would be better. I wear an army-style tam-o’shanter, but a balmoral would be just as good. You can get one that looks like a beret (with a tourie on top, though), or one with a diced band (not my preference).
The glengarry does not appeal to me either, but you could have a look at then.
For full dress evening occasions headgear is not required.

Another Bako Boy here.

I usually wear Ancient Green, Lovat Blue, or Charcoal hose. I never wear matching flasjes and actually decline them when they're offered, instead opting for garter ties (I usually wear Hunter Green).

We should have a Bako Kilt Night before I ship out for BCT.

To me, sleeves rolled up means lighter hose, non-matching flashes and no belt. Add coat and tie - darker or diced hose, nicer flashes and better shoes. No point in sending mixed signals.
