Some really stunning shots of my favourite places there. I wonder why Torridon has been excluded? Hopefully there is a separate page of those somewhere.

*Edit* Heaps more stunning photos from his main page here:-

Lovely photos. They bring back warm memories of my last two trips to Scotland. The gorgeous photo of Rannoch Moor, however, brought to mind a story in today's Scotsman newspaper about a proposal to site a wind farm in that area. What a travesty that would be! In fact, I read recently that windfarms are now so numerous in Scotland that one or another is visible from at least 60% of the country (http://scotlandagainstspin.org/2014/...-scotland-map/).

Time and again I marvel at the variety and beauty of the Scottish countryside, and of the cities, too.
There is a marvellous Facebook page called Beautiful Edinburgh, which features the work of a number of different photographers. While the capital is their principal focus, there are often pictures of the countryside, too – Lowlands, Highlands and Islands.
    Regards,
    Mike

From the hill just behind my house where I walk my dog I can see over sixty turbines, big and small, near and far. I have to say however that only one of them is in the least bit offensive to the eye. Yes, I'd prefer it if none of them were there, but I have to remember that just the other (windy) day, Scotland produced enough energy from renewables to power 105% of the country's domestic houses. It's a matter of balance and priorities, and I think we are probably approaching saturation for onshore windfarm development. So far the highlands have escaped relatively unscathed, and I agree that a development on Rannoch Moor would be very unwelcome indeed, and I sincerely hope it doesn't get approved.

I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.
