    Having lived in Halifax for 20+ years, I too have attended the tattoo many times, ( and will again this year ) and can agree to all the fine advice above. Fortunately , As you well know, Halifax is not a city where you are ever looked upon as being eccentric for being kilted, & much less so at the tattoo. Casual & kilted will be perfect . But I say this because others will be in casual attire, not because it will be July & hot.. Based on current temperatures, that might be wildly optimistic .
