I understand the complex family reasons. But I am getting ready for a great big fresh start and I think I might become Macbeth by name as well as blood.
When I mention the possibility of becoming Macbeth, people always mention the literary connection. I'm usually like: Uh, I like Shakespeare as much as the next guy, but that's my actual clan.
My dear SilverOtter, I did not mean to offend with any assumptions. My father-in-law was a nationally renown Shakespeare professor at the Univ. of Miss. before his death in 2004. I couldn't resist using his lifelong passion and dedication to Literature in context with your post. He would be thrilled for you and scoff at my crass comment.

No offense taken. I'm actually a fan of Shakespeare myself. It was kind of a shock to find out my clan was MacBeth!
Welcome back to Xmarks. Whatever name you choose to go by, I must say that I rather like SilverOtter.
Well, the coat of arms for Clan MacBeth includes a silver otter's head. In heraldry, an otter represents grace, empathy and someone who lives life to the fullest. In addition, I have a very dear friend who raised orphaned otter pups for years - so much so that she earned the nickname 'Mama Otter'. When I found out about the silver otter head, I immediately thought of her and chose that for my nomme de guerre here. ^^
