    My Smith ancient is a 5 yard pleated to sett but the sett isn't repeated regularly.

    What a helpful lot you are! I had thought about having alternate stripes or even just making fewer pleats but luckily when I spotted all of your lovely replies I was with the guy I'm making it for and he was able to tell me that he really likes the idea of a blue stripe.

    I'll try to put it together and see what you guys think as I go!
