I'll have to try one when I'm in Wisconsin for Irish Fest or the games Labor Day weekend. Sounds like a good reason to visit Wis. Wait, I don't need a reason for that either.

Excellent jacket! I wish I could find a score like that in my size!
As for the stouts, I love the new glarus offering... But I'm brewing a stout here soon as an impromptu kilt night and brewing class. I'm thinking of an oatmeal chipotle stout, just a hint of chipotle smokey spice to compliment the creamy oatmeal stout base.

Splendid buy Isaac, one can almost feel the texture of the material and the tailoring appears top notch. Cheers to you sir

Great find. EBay has not been good to me wrt kilt jacket shopping. I have found a couple wonderful tweeds that I plan to wear at school this fall. I will probably have one converted after I graduate so I can wear it with my kilt.
But, again, great find.

Good on you for such a super find. No gauntlet cuffs, so shortening the sleeve length is not as complicated.

Fantastic!
I've always wanted a jacket like that. I'll probably never find one, being 6'4" and 17 stone.
In the OP photos, had you already shortened the sleeves? I ask because they length they are there is how I often see them in vintage photos, not up at the wrist like with modern "Saxon" suits.
In the army the sleeves often come right to the knuckles. Don't know why they wanted them that long.
Here's a Pipe Major, in a doublet which has obviously been tailor-made for him individually (being unique in the regiment) yet his sleeves are quite long

I know how it is, though, because I have a tweed Saxon jacket I picked up at a charity shop and the sleeves are just too long. It's bothersome. I just can't seem to get round to having them shortened.
