I'd like a copy of those directions myself. It might simplify what I have in mind.

    directions...

Let me see if I can scan them and send them via e-mail, Bubba...save me some postage to "downunder" as well...

Off topic, Graham, but my mum is a huge John Williamson fan -- he came to Springfield in February on his "Mates on the Road" tour with Warren H. Williams and Pixie Jenkins, and Mom is wearing out her CD!! And I like it as well!

I'm in Wisconsin, so no international postage, but go ahead and see if you can scan them.

First, I don't like a standard jacket with a kilt, they are too long and look 'daggy'.

I had a friend to makes clothes try to convert a jacket to Argle Tweed, it didn't work out too well.

I don't have Bubba's talents with a sewing needle. I am destined to buy one.

Talent? It's a craft. You learn a few basics and away you go. It's more a matter of patience and attention to detail. Bet you could pick it up real easy.

Graham, I am still getting good results out the the jacket I had 'converted'. My father in law even admitted that it "Made the outfit." If you find one you like think about the tailoring. Double check under my gallery. I posted the picture of the one I took to the tailor to give him an idea of what I was looking for. I'm considering going to look for a grey jacket for 'conversion' for a winter sports jacket look.

I considered the cost nominal ($45.00 USD) for what I got.
