I play the Marine Corps hymn almost every time I play in public. That and the Air Force Song.

There are some good vids on YouTube as well of solo pipers, in addition to pipe bands, playing this.

I download a lot of music from Amazon.com. It might be worth your while looking through their MP3 downloads.

Not to hijack, but I've never seen anyone refer to the second and third verses of the hymn.

I think Turpin's speaking of never hearing anyone sing the 2nd and 3rd verses; the music is essentially the same, however, there are some extra embellishments, etc, which a band will add during the 2nd and 3rd verses.
From the Halls of Montezuma
To the Shores of Tripoli;
We fight our country's battles
In the air, on land and sea;
First to fight for right and freedom
And to keep our honor clean;
We are proud to claim the title
of United States Marine.
Our flag's unfurled to every breeze
From dawn to setting sun;
We have fought in ev'ry clime and place
Where we could take a gun;
In the snow of far-off Northern lands
And in sunny tropic scenes;
You will find us always on the job--
The United States Marines.
Here's health to you and to our Corps
Which we are proud to serve
In many a strife we've fought for life
And never lost our nerve;
If the Army and the Navy
Ever look on Heaven's scenes;
They will find the streets are guarded
By United States Marines.

You got it Derek. I served in the Army, but learned the above, believe it or not, as a kid by reading it in a comic book. And to get back to the thread topic, hearing the MCH on the pipes is a shivery thing, even though it doesn'r seem like the right type of music for pipes..

Marine Corps Hymn
My MCL Detachment does colors every Nov 10 at the biggest shopping center in town. One of our members, Sir Robert Bell pipes for us. He plays the MCH quite fast which I think sounds better. If you like I can ask if he will make a recording for you (us).

I'll admit to being a fan of a higher-tempo version of the Hymn... it adds a bit of urgency and some extra energy to the tune which fits in perfect with the Corps.
