Not for them or against them although they do tend to be the nicer/sweeter smelling of the bunch. I just went through a bunch of reviews and decided on a few to try. My tastebuds tend to be rather neanderthalithic, meaning, like my wine, if I like it I buy more of it. If I don't then I move on. The fun is in the search. I couldn't pick out a caramel pepper essence in a Bordeaux if my life depended on it. Probably going to be the same for my ability to discern latika vs burley. If it smokes good then it's a winner.

McClelland Frog Morton Cellar is great. A really nice smooth Latakia blend. Are you into Lat?
I also really like Sillem´s Black - Latakia with a nice fruity Aroma added. Sounds strange, tastes good.
I picked up some Frog Morton On The Town yesterday but the shop didn't have the others I was after. Haven't had a chance to try it yet though. Smells very interesting in the tin. A bit medicinal almost like an Islay single malt with the heavy iodine like forward peat. Tobaccoreviews.com says it's composed mostly of oriental(Basma) and Latakia. Not sure what's giving it that medicinal smell though. Was a bit taken aback at first although I am interested to see how it smokes.
