Looking good Tom! I know that I wouldn't be able to pull off a kilt as well if I wore it.

There are kilts and hot girls in the photo? I guess I kept looking at that great big lens and didn't notice. Is that a 300 f/2.8 on the monopod?

An xmarks recognition dandelion worn about your person, behind the bonnet badge for example, may have helped there.

No Bob, I left the 300/2.8 at home that day. That is the new Nikon 200-500/5.6 because it has VR (my 300 is an old version that is only AF), but yes, on a monopod. It actually turned to be too much lens for most shots - and I learned a couple things about fotogging the games for the future.

I understand that they grow quite widely in America, but it might not be the season for them at the moment? Also, they do wilt very quickly. The better option are the very lifelike artificial ones. Steve Ashton may be able to help there and also used to be found on the internet too.

There is no certainty that the dandelion will work though!

This picture taken from a video published on youtube and I was completely unaware the camera was about, but----. I was at the Inverness gathering to meet up with an xmarker whom I had never met and who was competing there, so on went the dandelion on my bonnet, that was bound to work thought I. Wrong! I never met up with the gentleman, but it gets worse! On the left of the picture is an xmarker member Detroit Pete. We had a very pleasant chat about this and that for perhaps ten minutes and then parted company. He was either blind as a bat, or just being sneaky, or thought I was so awful that he did not want to reveal his identity! Personally, I think the first reason the most likely and it was only when the picture was published here by some observant soul that Detroit Pete now back on safe ground across the pond let on who he was! Ho Hum!

Sooo, Jack, Does everyone here on the Forum actually know about the dandelion 'badge'? Your story suggests otherwise.

My neighbor has oodles of them in his yard (so much so that I wagered that he was going into business selling them - or making wine), but I do not because my hired hand keeps my yard looking pristine!
    Regards,
    Tom

I think most long serving members do Tom-----it was quite a topic of conversation at one time and is actually a good idea in many ways. Its quietly discreet and useful on occasion and despite its failings mainly through lack of publicity, I recommend it.
