I've seen that tartan in person, photos don't do it justice.
It does a thing few modern tartans do: it looks simultaneously traditional and utterly fresh.
It also, as you say, achieves subtlety, something in short supply in most recent tartans, which seem determined to bludgeon the viewer over the head rather than beguile the eye.
I am so happy to read these comments. They really make the whole process worth it. Thanks again.
