Buzzfeed likes to try to be funny. ( Sarcasm is not necessarily humor)
I took it as offensive at first, but looking through the article I could see that it was sarcasm.

I peruse buzzfeed semi-regularly, and I assume they have some Scottish staff or contributors, quite a few Scottish themed posts by them.

I was mildly offended at first, too, 'til I got to number 6 and saw "They're just for stuffy, traditional old men." over a pic of a young, shirtless dude in a utility kilt.

Totally unfunny... everyone loves kilts. They scored an own goal with that article.

Good for a laugh. Unfortunately, another writer mistaking sarcasm for irony, so what's supposed to come across as almost panting admiration (IMHO) first comes across as somewhat petty and mean. I had to laugh at myself when I consciously noticed only one of the beefcake pictures actually wore his kilt at the correct waist height.
Then again, fashion seems to rely on pushing extreme examples of individual garments to stay contemporary and relevant, so this might be a case of "any mention is a good mention."

And, afraid to admit it. As such if you like something that you are afraid to admit liking you must deride it.

Was she was caught looking at the pictures while at work then attempted to cover it by saying it work for an "article" that she was then stuck posting?
