I agree with Jimmy. I know my wife would be interested, but all we have seen is not up to her standards.

no way for this!
maybe i missed a link, but are this explanations why a traditional kiltmaker does not make women kilts?
i would love to share freedom of kilts with my girl friend, but the crazy girl wears jeans even when hiking ;)

I was waiting for you Hamish.
I must agree that a kilt is a kilt and should be given the respect it deserves.
The next thing you know someone will be wearing their underware on the outside of their clothes...wait...hasn't someone done that?
I digress.....sorry.

I promise I'll just wear my kilt Ham next month. I assure you that Elaine would join you in heading off in the other direction as well at warp speed. Derek

Derek,
It can be quite cold in November, so I'd recommend at least a shirt/pullover/jacket and some hose and footwear as well as the kilt

I think most women grow up wearing unbifurcated garments fairly often. They know what it's like already, so it's not a new exciting thing for them.
The important thing is that women have the freedom to choose -- a freedom guys have yet to totally enjoy.

Hello All!
On the subject of kiltmakers making garments for the ladies, they do make both a "kilted skirt" and what is known a "Hostess Kilt" as well as evening skirts all in tartan. But the price can be daunting.
My wife and I talked about the idea of getting her something along this line in her family tartan (McNeil) but decided for the amont of actual wear it would get it was not cost effective for us. As it has been pointed out our ladies are used to being able to go to a good department store and buy something very nice off the rack for $50.00 or less.
I might add that Sibyl likes the idea of something that be worn generally rather than just special occasions.
Bill
May all your blessings be the ones you want and your friends many and true.
