I think they export too. Worth a try?
    Well. . .

It was an interesting experiment. Joseph Turner's website insists that I'm in America and won't ship the one shirt I'd like to have to Canada because it doesn't think we exist, and Tyrwhitt (which is rather dear in price) has mostly button down collars, certainly so in anything approaching a tattersall.

Any other thoughts my friend? I've sent Turner a clear message indicating that I'd like to buy... but cannot.

I've had pretty good luck with Tip Top Tailors; it depends a bit on the current styles but there often some nice options. They generally are pretty close to what they are marked and most dress shirts have removable stays and convertible cuffs.

Might be worth a trip if you have one nearby.

    Thanks Shane.

We have one about 15 minutes away, and I do keep a close eye on their shirts, but so far little luck. They don't seem to do tattersall too well.

I think a firm email to Turners could not do any harm. We are in the same Commonwealth after all! I have no idea what Tyrwhitt have been up to lately, but I am saddened that they appear to be catering for the North American market more than the local market. Its the way of this Br...t world, I suppose. If we cant sell to Europe then perhaps North America is the next obvious marketing target

Yes, I sent a pretty clear message to Turner's with the note on which item I want to buy. They don't seem to think that the Commonwealth means much.

You're quite right; it cannot do any harm since the current situation is that I can get nothing from them. As I said in my note, they're out of a sale and I'm out of a shirt. Many Canadians do get huffy when we're dumped into the same category as America. They're our neighbours, and our friends, and we have a lot in common, but we're not they, nor they us. We like to be recognized as a sovreign nation.

Order over the phone. I am sure they will believe in our existence once they process the payment.

I live twenty minutes from the border and have a U.S. shipping address. I could forward your goods to you or they offer a forwarding service.

Imbrius, you are most comfortable within the bounds of THCD? All well and good but do not be afraid to push your own boundaries. Wear the polo to work, if you find that it didn't suit then don't do it again. If it does work out then you have expanded upon the places and times you can kilt up with out feeling over dressed. I recall your trepidation in regards to kilting at work and that has turned out to be alright. Will this be any different? As FatherBill mentioned, personally, Iwould keep the other aspects in the traditional realm. Good luck with whatever you chose.

I am sorry to hear that story Bill and I cannot speak for that company, but somehow I am not surprised at their lack of geographical knowledge, lack of good manners and their lack of business acumen.

Well, it's late hours where you and they are, so I'll wait 'til tomorrow to see if they bother to answer my E and then, as the good Bhodran4me has suggested, I'll give them a buzz. As you say, Bhodran, it's unlikely they'll turn down a credit card when confronted with a purchase.

Hope the one shirt is still available - it's a clearance item.

Bhodran - I'll look at that US address thing. It's a useful thing to have, I'm sure but $29 for forwarding almost doubles the cost of the shirt, so the phone call is likely the best route.

Hi Bill, have you checked out https://www.spierandmackay.com/shop/...ss-shirts.html

They have some tattersall shirts, not quite what I would consider tattersall, but some are quite passable; you might want to search checked, as I think some of them are more tattersall than their tattersall. (I know that makes no sense, but ...).

And best of all they are Canadian. Indeed, if you wanted you could go their shop in TO; and ever-the-Scot, I think their shirts are cheaper than many you find in the shops.
