There have been exceptions. Remember a couple years back when some woman wore her Starfleet Uniform to jury duty? She actually got picked, but the media made such a big deal about it that she eventually got bounced off the jury.
(can't remember if she wore her Phaser...)
I don't think the phaser would set off the metal detectors though, I think they are made from some super secret hi-tech composite that doesn't exist in our century. The might reject the small officer's model though because it looks somewhat like a cell phone.

Seems like it never ends...so many different courts here in Arizona. Federal District Courts, County Superior Courts, City Courts, grand juries...
I get a lot of calls, but have yet to be picked for a jury for anything. My experience as a kid cop, the fact that I've worked and volunteered inside State and Federal prisons, now work with probationers and parolees, have a little brother that's a police officer and a son-in-law that's a police officer seems to keep me off juries. Defense attorney's don't think I'm a good prospect for their client.
But I still have to show up and go through the process...Have learned to take a book. Think there is a limit, that they'll let you off jury duty if you've been called to serve within the last two years.
Just can't picture myself going through that process kilted. Sure would like to though...jury duty is always a good chance to meet a nice lady.

and did get a little money for the hours spent?
even of its a good opportunity to know a nice lady, you should go there absolutely kilted...
i know it is a bit of serious democracy stuff and justice court and so on, but i guess you ll get the same reactions as in casual life on street. thats just me.
concerning kilt wearing, i would be so glad if i would live in a country related with anglo-american culture, scotish heritage is much more familiar than in our totaly different rooted continental european culture. i guess 25% of the poeple here think i m wearing a skirt.
so lliving in the US for example would be a paradise for me compared to small austria ;)

In the last 19 years, I was only called to duty once.
As far as the culture mcnice, I would think that other countries outside of the U.S. would be more accepting. Maybe not.

for sure the western commonwealth countries as australia maybe. but in the US as well as in australia it depends on the regions i suppose. and i have not enough knowledge about these geografical differences within the US yet.
in the european western countries i would say that it is average, while in the eastern ex-communist european countries might be more difficult. manhood there is quite macho-oriented i would say.
don t know about wearing kilts in china, but in the regions still unbifurcated it might at least be understood that a kilt is as comfortable as their unbifurcated garments.
i mean poeple here don t even guess that i wear my kilts for comfort. they think i m just an eccentric.

The US is very diverse, so one cannot say that "in the US yada yada yada.... because what goes in one place may not go elsewhere .
Having said that, I told you folks a while back, that once my wife accepts it, I would be bold as a lion and go anywhere I please kilted and that is exactly what I do. If I can be kilted I am and I don't care what anyone else thinks about it.
I will be an ambassador for the Kilt! Period.
Rememder to get it accepted as norm you have to ...
GET OUT THERE!

getting out there is also a good way for making your wife understand how unproblematic the wearing of the kilt is ;)
so i guess on the east coast a kilt is better seen as in texas or near mexiko? i m just guessing, as i have no idea where to spent my journey in the US ;)

Then why the poll on whether or not to wear you kilt in a TV commercial? Just wear it and swing those pleats!

Because this is so you can all participate in the process. This isn't like just deciding to go to the Ice Cream stand .. And why not? you get to think about it and express your view, which I value very much on everything even when we disagree.
